  • Need to jump off the wagon and get to exercising again.

Well I guess I can guage my success on atkins by the times I visit the board...I've been very lax about coming here and way lax about my exercising. Haven't seen the gym since april 26th!! URGH...I've pretty much stayed on Atkins as far as eating goes, but last night---for some unknown reason I went to the bakery and bought TWO donuts and ATE them both on the drive home. I need to get that motivation back! Any words of wisdom from anyone??

You've lost 36 pounds so far...so I'm wondering whats going on in your life to make you jeopardize your weight loss. You said you've become lax about coming to the board. The best advice I can give you is to come here as often as you can, become friends with the members and get active in the boards. Bonding with others who are on the same journey is the best way to keep yourself motivated.

Exercise is so important to keeping your mind stimulated and feeling good about yourself. It tones/strengthens/boosts your body and self-image. Write out why you lost your spark and make healthy plans on what you'll do next time you're feeling down.

We all have times when we don't feel as motivated as others, but thats the time we really need the board and to recommit to ourselves why we want this to happen. I've been doing Atkins for 3+ years now and my two best friends are my DANDR and my JOURNAL. Reading the excitement I felt when it clicked and I was actually taking control over food gave me the strength to keep going.

You can do it. Recommit to yourself and the program. Read the success stories, look at the before/after photos, join challenges, make new friends and train your mind to think positively about this journey. This can be an exciting adventure. Don't give up on yourself. You have lost 36 pounds! We're here for you!

I don't know that it was any one thing.....first I was ill, didn't exercise, then on vacation, didn't exercise, then ____ didn't exercise....now not only am I not exercising...I've given into TWO donuts. I don't want to go backward. Thank you for your suggestions.
I decided since I can't seem to get out of the house at 5:30 am to go to the gym, I would try going after work today....so wish me luck!!!

I can't believe not going to the gym for 3 weeks put me sooo over the edge.
Went to work out last night and I was having a hard time just doing 30 minutes on the treadmill....I was sooo burnt out but I DID GO.
Also, starting induction again so 1 day cheat free!! Going to the gym today at 3. need to be accountable so I don't lose my focus.

What I love about exercise is that the more you do it, the easier it becomes. I used to not be able to walk 1/2 block without pain, huffing and extreme fatique. Now, I can walk for hours at a time. Keep going and soon you'll be back up to par.

~ You will make it happen! I love how you said I am going to the gym at 3 today! Last post you said I'll try to go. The way we speak to ourselves and word our committments makes a big difference!! I'm so glad you are getting back into the swing of it!
