Hi everyone,
I just thought I'd share something that made me laugh today. I went to give blood and at the end the nurse said to go and have a biscuit and a sugary squash. And I said 'oh, no thanks, water is fine' and she said 'no you have to have a biscuit or some crisps'. So I replied 'No I really can't, I'm on a diet'. Then she'd tried to make me say I'd have 2 cups of orange squash! In the end I promised to have a biscuit and some water but actually I managed to sneak out after just having had some water!
It was really funny! She was really friendly but wouldn't take no for an answer! She said it was to replace lost sugar and salt. Is this true? I did feel a bit weird until I ate some almonds. I think I'll take them with me next time.
I didn't want to get into an Atkins debate surrounded by blood donation nurses who makes everyone eat crisps and biscuits all day!
