why do they scream at me?

I've been trying to get as much exercise as possible lately so I've started walking home from work. The first day I was walking I passed about 5 high school boys and as I walked past them one of them screamed at me and they all started laughing (he probably just did it to make his friends laugh) so I just laughed and kept walking. The second time I walked home some guy hung out the window of a car and screamed at me. I'm thinking ok....is some random guy gonna scream at me every time I walk? Do people ever scream at you? It's kinda funny but I just don't want people to keep screaming at me haha

I don't know...but my son does it too when we are driving somewhere.. I tell him to stop it!

My husband loves to yell out the window. He's almost 30. His favorite thing to say is "get a room", which is really confusing to people who are walking/running down the street alone.

That's happened to me too, it's really weird / annoying. People sometimes comment on runners and say 'keep your knees up' etc

I got into a debate with some teenage boys the other day because I was running in a t shirt that said 'I <3 rock and roll' (that's a heart, lol). They wanted to know if I really did love rock and roll, I said 'mmm' and they declared that I was 'sad' for wearing a T-shirt bearing a slogan I didn't heartily endorse. It was funny really, but it makes me think twice about wearing it now...

Just ignore people who yell or point and laugh at them.

People do that to scare other people. It has nothing to do with you personally, it's just the fact that people in a car see a lone victim on the street and want to verbally terrorize them. I admit, I was one of those screamers. I never said anything completely obscene, I'd just yell things like "ROCK AND ROLL" or just make guttural noises. I have NO idea why I felt the need to do it...maybe just to see the look of confusion on people's faces?

I have had people yell at me, and honk, and wave, and since I don't wear my glasses when I run, it could very well be people I know saying hello, but I'm guessing it's strangers trying to shock me.

I worked with a guy who liked to yell out the window of his car and it usually was pretty hilarious when he did. In fact, on our way to a conference one day, we saw a woman walking an extremely skinny and obviously expensive dog. I think it was a greyhound. As we passed, he yelled out the window "FEED THAT THING!" Yeah, it was rude but we all had a pretty good laugh.

However, if he ever did something like that to someone who was obviously exercising to lose weight, I would've smacked him upside his head!

LOLOL, I never realized that there were so many 'screamers' out there. Yes, I've been screamed at quite a few times. I even lived in Europe and Hawaii and people did it too. I guess it is a silly game people play to make the ones being screamed at feel embarrassed. I used to think they did it because of my appearance, but now since they are still screaming at me once in awhile, I just wave at them and keep going.

KUDDOS ON THE SCREAMING...
IF I'M RIDING ON MY BIKE....'HEY BIKE LADY' usually is what the neighboor kids yell...and honking of the horn....scares the sh*t out of me!! Just ignore them...it does get old though!

I've screamed at a few innocent bystanders in my day, but I think I out grew it lol.

It's pretty annoying right now, we just moved into a new neighborhood & they're still building so there are a TON Of mexicans (don't get me wrong, I'm hispanic myself) but for some ungodly reason a woman can not walk out of the house w/ out all of them stopping and just staring, whistling, saying "hey baby" - and just being gross!! I almost hate to go outside of my house. lol.
When I was running the other morning a truck full of them pulled up behind me and just trailed behind me for a few minutes. It was nerve racking and weird... And it's not like they do it to just me, it's to ANY woman... I don't get it. It's like bred into them or something.

Anyway, this kinda reminded me of the yelling so I thought I'd share lol.
