    New DNA Evidence May Free the West Memphis Three!!!!!

    I don't know how many of you remember the Robin Hood Hills murders back in the early 90's... but in this area (seeing as I live in Memphis) it's never really been "out" of anyone's minds....
    With the movies that have been released regarding this case and the ongoing years of craziness surrounding it... this new development makes me smile...
    There may be justice for the WM3 after all.

    WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (WHBQ FOX13 myfoxmemphis.com) -- Three teens - now grown men - have all been tried and convicted for the 1993 murders of three little boys. Now 14 years later, DNA evidence could tie one of the victim's family members to the crime scene. FOX13's Cori Lake reports from West Memphis on the reopened investigation.

      well yeah Brady I figured you would - you're right in the middle of it as I have been....
      I figured it was time we hear something about it again.... it was "time" ... been quiet for far too long....
      Looks like interesting things are developing though. I find it weird that now they're saying that one of the boys' moms says now she never thought that Damien, Jason, or Jesse had anything to do with it.... the nerve of some people.

        Echols always appeared a little out there to me. I thought the other two were just followers of his. I can't wait to see how this turns out. I thought Echols confessed somewhere along the way that he had done it.

          No way.. Damien never confessed anything. And I truly don't believe he had a reason to confess anything at all. The grounds that they arrested him and convicted him on - could apply to a number of people I know. Ones I know would NEVER kill anyone much less three little boys. For that matter, if I had lived close, they could have arrested me on the same grounds... and I'd never hurt a fly.

          I got really involved in this back in 98 when I was going to college in Jonesboro and Damien was in court with appeals. I had written back and forth with him many times as he sat on Death Row, and watched them take him into the courthouse in Jonesboro for his appeals trials. It'll be interesting to see what comes out of this... that's for sure.

            Didn't the news media try to get everyone to believe Echols was a devil worshiper? How can they come up with a hair fourteen years later.
            Were all the boys tried as adults Monique? are they still in jail?

              Yes all the boys were tried as adults. Damien is still on Death Row. Jason Baldwin and Jesse are still both serving life sentences if I remember correctly.

              And yes, they did try to pin Damien down as a Devil Worshipper. Because he wore a pentagram and listened to Metallica and had books regarding black magick.

              But if that makes you a devil worshipper I must be one too.
              I wear a pentagram everywhere I go. I'm wiccan and not scared to admit that, even here in Bible-country. I listen to Metallica and much heavier things that I'm sure would convince anyone something was "wrong" with me. And as for the readings... I guess the "Nocturnal Witchcraft" book on my coffee table would surely do me in.... I'd be on death row too if my neighbor died. Damien wore black and listened to metal... that's the only thing that was ever PROVED by the trials. Doesn't justify calling him or either of the other two murderers in my book. Not without evidence. And there was never any evidence that tied them to the scene. All the evidence has actually been to the contrary. The teeth marks that were studied from one of the bodies were proven NOT to be caused by any of the three who were convicted. And now there's hairs and other DNA evidence finally coming back that is not from the boys who were killed nor the ones convicted. The whole thing has just been a mess.....

              I'm still a firm believer in innocent until proven guilty...and I don't believe anything in this case was ever proven.

                Which one of the Mom's is doubting they did it? I remember they showed one of the little boys Momma a lot more than the others.

                    I figured it was her, I just couldnt remember the names. Funny how I can remember the ones accused of the crime but can't remember the victims names. Dang news media. I will watch the Memphis news tonight when I get home. I can't wait to see what they have to say now.
                    How could these boys ever be repayed if they are found innocent? Don't believe you could put a dollar amount on it.
