I dont know if this is the right place to put this, but I just got a call from my gynie and told I have mild dysplasia, but not to worry. I have to go back for a test. Has anyone had this? If so what came of it?

Re: Mild Dysplasia
I had it in my early 20's. I remember the dr calling my folks even tho I was over 18 and discussing it with my mom before he did with me. When you have a pap smear sometimes they find some irregular cells that "might" have a chance to turn into cancer. Sometimes they take another pap to make sure that the test results were done right. Then they go in and "freeze" the irregular cell area. It doesn't hurt but just a little uncomfortable. BUT- you have a nasty discharge from the sloffing off of the dead frozen area. You cannot use tampons or douche (no sex) for a while. Then the dr goes back and takes another pap smear to see if it will come back negative. I had it done one time and mine was fine ever since. You will go for a pap smear every 6 months for a couple of years so they can keep an eye on it. Believe me... this is much better than waking up with cervical cancer one day. It is more of an embarrassment and hassle than anything....Good luck.Pie4me
