  • Energizing music

I thought there was a post about this recently but I can't find it...

If you are exercising hard what song would be good motivation for you?

I'm thinking of stuff to put on my new ipod

    Re: Energizing music

Just when I reach that point where I'm really tired and need a boost of energy I turn up my MP3 player full blast and listen to one of the following:

    Artist:3 Doors Down,
    Album: The better Life
    Song: Duck and Run

    Artist: Bonnie Tyler
    Album: Footlose - Original Soundtrack
Song: Holding out for a Hero

    Artist: Garth Brooks
    Album: Garth Brooks Greatest Hits
Song: Callin' Baton Rouge, Standing Sutside the Fire (particularly meaningful for me as it's message is one of the main reasons I exercise, which is "Quit playing it safe, Live life to the fullest"

    Artist: My Chemical Romance
Album: Welcome to the Black Parade
Song(s): The Sharpest Lives, Welcome to the Black Parade, and especially House of Wolves

    Artist: Green Day
    Album: American Idiot
Songs: American Idiot, She's a Rebel
    Grant

      Re: Energizing music

I have all of the music of the sound track from the Rocky films. Corny I know, but I find them motivational.

I also downloaded a lot of Ministry of Sound dance songs, as the fast beat keeps me pumped / motivated more

AC/DC "Back in Black" album...especially, "Highway to h3ll" when the sweat pours and there's not an ounce of energy more to move the legs.

        Queen...."Another one bites the dust"

Bon Jovi & Big and Rich..."We Got It Going On".

            Re: Energizing music

            Hey everyone,

thanks so much for such a great and well compiled list! I'm going to check out the ones I've not heard of

I have Rocky too Richt I did press ups to it today in the gym and it made me laugh.

I've got some Queen and Pink too

If anyone else need's ideas, here's some of mine - sorry I don't knwo all the albums if they are from compilations:

Fleetwood Mac - 'Don't Stop' their greatest hits

Fatboy Slim Greatest Hits 'Gangster Trippin', 'I see you baby' 'Praise You' and of course 'Rockafeller Skank' but this just makes me laugh because of Dylan Moran's standup routine about this song

Pink, Misunderstood "Get the Party Started'

            Queen 'Headlong'

            Iggy Pop 'Lust for Life'

            The Knack 'My Sharona'

M People 'Proud' they play this on repeat at Race for Life and it always makes me feel tingly

            David Bowie 'Rebel Rebel'

Supercheesey I know but D:ream's "Things Can only get better" WAS fab until Labour used it for their 1997 election theme.

            And today i downloaded:
Calvin Harris 'Acceptable in the 80s' great beat
Avril Lavigne 'Girlfriend' very unsisterly but has a good beat

....yeah -- i agree, people are basically getting sick of the same old rock/hip-hop/r&b bullsh*t ..... and there is just this big upsurge from a new style coming out of Europe -- best place i've found it so far is a compilation series called 'euro club hits' on itunes -- or check this link:
