I really admire people doing jobs like that - it needs to be done. I guess that's the same with a lot of jobs people would think are bad or unpleasant, someone's got to do it.

Perhaps I should have started a thread on the most pointless job you've ever had. Mine would be answering a phone that barely rang - I nearly went insane with boredom.

i cant think what my worst job would be, i worked in a bakery which was pretty crappy, thats about as bad as it gets...

It must be when I used to work in the fields picking up cantaloupe or planting onions. Those were the bad old days. Hey, but I was 13 back then and needed the cash to buy back to school clothes. I guess I'll always be grateful for that job. It inspired me to go to college.

My worst job was my first job. I took 3 years of secretarial training and then landed what I thought was a dream job. I was an executive secretary. My boss's true colors started showing through about 1 month after I started working. He was a true Archie Bunker. He was downright rude, spiteful and insulting to those of us who worked for him. He was demeaning. He'd snap his fingers at us, point at us in our faces and talk behind our backs. Why did we stay there?? The pay was good and he was a prominent man in town and we all felt if he gave us bad recommends - we'd never get other jobs. Well, we were young and dumb. Everyone of us went on and got better jobs. He is deceased now and the company went under. Its a time of my life that I can finally look back on and see how stupid I was for staying there for 2 years!!!!!!!

My worst job was at a place that manufactured mechanical seals for pumps in refineries. It wasn't the actual job that was so bad... I did some drafting and office work... it was my boss. About 5 of us worked in a room, and my boss had his desk in the front of the room facing us, sort of like a teacher in a classroom. This man lived with his finger in his nose. I'm not kidding... he would sit there all day and just dig for gold. He would even do it sometimes when he was engaged in a conversation with you. Yuck!
