  • Military Spouses/Significant Others

    Hello,

I just wondered if there were any other ladies or gentlemen who had spouses or significant others deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. My husband has been deployed since March. I also have a son in the military but thank God he is not deployed as of this moment.

YES!! I havent formally introduced myself to the board yet, but i saw this and had to reply. My husband is in the Air Force and just came back from his deployment in March. I started Atkins this past Monday, but unfortunately fell down and stayed down these last 2 days. On a good note I bought myself some vitamins and am ready to jump back on the wagon tomorrow. Just thought I would let you know that you are not the only military spouse on here Congrats on the weightloss by the way!!

Thank you all for responding. And Liz thank you for your support of the families of the soldiers. Although we don't wear the uniform, we serve to. This is not our first deployment by any means. And it probably is not our last. My husband has been in the military for 26 years. It is so nice to know that I am not alone here.(military spouse/significant others)

I started this weight loss journey because I am tired of carrying all this extra weight around. I am in week two of induction, just really getting my feet wet with this new way of life. My husband will be home for R&R(rest and relaxation) some time in December. I would love to be able to have lost at least a couple of dress sizes.(I'm in a 16 now)

This journey gets difficult for me because I get depressed from time to time with him being gone and worrying if he is safe. Then I want to pick up that comfort food. I just keep telling myself although I love ice cream, cake, chocolate, etc. They don't love me back. Didn't mean for this to get so long, just wondered if you all were going through the same thing. I am taking it day by day and trying to stay strong. So far no cheats! And thanks for the congrats on the weight loss!
