Did anybody else watch tonight? A 297 pound man, age 62 years old lost 31 pounds in one week. Even my jaw dropped.
He lost more weight than anyone in one weeks time(including all the earlier years)
there have been some very large men on there too and this older gentleman kicked everyones booty. His reply when he saw he had lost 31 lbs, "so much for metabolism" he was just hoping to have lost six pounds. I am still amazed.

      It's BS.

      It's starvation.

I have lost weight from starvation a lot over the years, it's not a way to live your life.

Did you know Ryan Benson, winner of Season1 (US) is now back up to 295 pounds??

This show is crazy! It presents the wrong image on weight loss.

I was amazed, too! He wasn't near as big as a lot of them on there. I think they work them out really hard for a long time with a very restricted diet.

I did my exercise while I was watching--it gives me inspiration to keep going.

That older guy was great! He beat the youngsters in the race and then kicked everybody's rear on the weight loss! He definitely has a great work ethic.

I know it's probably not the healthiest way to lose weight, but I do enjoy watching it. I do get a kick out of knowing I've lost my weight and started exercising on my own without a personal trainer. (Couldn't have done it without ADBB, though!) Also, I can eat steak, butter and cream and never be hungry!

I like to hear their stories and I like to see them succeed. It's one of the few reality shows I like because they are pretty good about supporting each other.

They really saved the two best/most dramatic weigh-ins for last. We were thinking it's gotta be red team with one of the smallest girls and the oldest man but holy cow did they prove us wrong. You realize they lost nearly 10% of their weight in one week? good grief.

Off to the biggest loser website to see the black team weih-in. =)

I may not always agree with the method of diet, but I can't help but cheer anyone on that excercises and suceeds at weight loss without surgery.

I too find it very inspirational to watch this show, and I normally HATE reality shows

I am a sucker for this show too, I have always found it motivational to me. This is the only reality tv show I try to watch every time.
I am rooting for the older gentleman though. Go Jerry.

You are correct sir, I got to exchange emails with Matt the wrestler that won a few years back. He said he was taking in 1400 cals per-day and then working out about 3 to 4 hrs per-day. So estimating he was burning off about 700 of those cals doing the exercise he would be at 700 cals which is pretty much starvation level.

On the other hand it does motivate me so I can't knock it that much.

It sure did and I would have hoped it would be muscle but from the look of it that was not the case.

Maybe once the newness wears off the baby he will get a handle on it again. I just hope he stays sober one demon is enough to fight at one time.

Yeah that's the thing with starvation, it can't be maintained.

I bet NBC hated to see him go too.
