Big Hair. Us girls would all gather in the tiny bathroom and spray a whole bottle of hairspray. the higher the bangs the better, ROFL. We looked like idiots but it's a part of the 80's-early 90's. I was only 3 in 1980 so I can only account for a few of those years in the 80's.30/F/5'6"

The music or the fashions - kind of the same thing in a way. Ultra colorful, edgy, very individualistic. New wave music and eyeliner on men (eek), but super fun. I used to wear fedoras or berets and have huge cross earrings, worn with puffy shouldered tops and plaid mini skirts. Lots and lots of pearls. It was so theatrical.
I miss the 80's - can you tell?

Finding out that DH and I were expecting after struggling with infertility for over 5 years. As if that was great enough, our daughter has been the blessing of our lives. She is 23 years old now and is still our sweet blessing from God. She is well worth all the years we waited for her!

Re: What is your favourite memory from the 1980's?
I did alot of traveling in the eighties. I had just graduated high school in "79" so I was ready to see some country. My first trip was to Alaska. I stayed there for a summer, got a job at a courtesy counter in a grocery store. When the Cruise Ships would dock, the tourist would come in and buy film and whatever else they needed for their trip. I became a member of the community for about four months. Love the people up there and oh the beauty, awesome. Then I took a trip across country on Amtrack to Grand Central Station, New York. I stayed in New York for three months and absorbed as much of that area that I could. Statue of Liberty, Twin Towers, Natural History Museum and a trip to Jersey on the board walk. I had so much fun and met so many interesting people from all around the world. I also got my first tattoo in South Hempsted when I was there. I was there long enough to pick up a little of the east coast accent. No longer have it of course, hehe. I took the train home. It was the best thing I could of done for myself at that age. It really put alot of things in perspective for me and made me appreciate where I come from. There's no place like home, good ol' USA.MOTHEREARTH AKA SHERRI "HOW THE WORLD TURNS AS I SEE IT"
