Oh yeah. I had Sunshine Bear. I remember we begged dad to take us to the Care Bear movie, and he slept through the whole thing. We kept waking up and saying "daddy, you're missing it?!". he was such a good sport. Mom would have NEVER taken us to a Care Bear movie.
I was an adult before Rainbow Brite, Strawberry Shortcake, and Cabbage Patch dolls were invented.
I wasn't dissing your love for Barbie. She just wasn't my thing. Unfortunately, I had tons of Barbies because it was the only thing dad could ever think to buy me for holidays and birthdays. It didn't stop until I was 14 and I finally confessed to him that I hated Barbie dolls.
Barbies...Barbies..and more Barbies...Had the first Barbie ever made..1959..the year I was born. (my Dad has it now) Safe Keeping...although not in original condition...pretty worn and tattered and oh yea...a special haircut...LOL
My favorite toy was my doll that I named Amanda.. and I always was planning on naming my daughter Amanda..but when I was pregnant with my first child I knew too many Amanda's... Needless to say my daughter is a Brittany..lol
I had the sunshine family dolls and a record player that had film strips that showed on a built in screen ............ I can't remember what it was called but I loved that thing!
