I have taken to just ignoring them and walking on as if there is no one there.

Yesterday I got approached by 3 different people with in the space of about 5 minutes. I felt a bit sorry for the last one as I just barked "NO" at her. Closely followed by saying, "cant I walk anywhere in town these days with out constantly being hassled". Was that a bit naughty of me?

I live in a city where everybody drives; nobody walks. So when I go to cities where people actually walk the streets with clipboards, I'll listen to them for a second if I'm not in a hurry. I like to chat with telemarketers, too, but never about what they're selling.

I usually say "sorry I'm in a hurry" or "sorry I'm late for [insert BS excuse here ]"

I work in Wash DC and pass by clipboard people every day. >.<

I always say "sorry I'm on my lunch-break"!! and hurry off!!! they understand I need to shop!!! lol
