  • the change of life....

    No!
    Not that one!

I've just sold my store... Now after two years of marriage I'm finally one step closer to being able to live with my husband. I'm in the process of packing up m house and selling a large percentage of my stuff. Painting and recarpeting my place and renting it out.

Then I'm moving to his (our) house in the mountains. At that point I'll be unemployed and house bound much of the winter. Part of me is looking forward to the peace and quiet and the other part of me is frighten that I'll alive my boredom with food. So I've got a plan.... I'm going to pack up stuff from this house... and spend the winter sorting through it and selling stuff on e-bay... I've got lots of good stuff that I NEVER use.

Then in the spring time I'll drive into LA and look for a place for us to live ... The mountain house would still be a three hour daily commute for him each day. So we can't live there ... but if I can find a place to fix up we'll live there and flip it when it's done.

So I guess what I'm saying is I'll either be really busy and not have much time to be here or I'll be bored out of my mind and be here so much you'll all be sick of me..

Either was life is changing and I'm both thrilled and trepidatious about it!!

      It is pretty isn't it..?

He designed and built it himself.. We've had fun finishing the insides together... I can now do dry wall, paint, lay tile and a plethora of other things..

It's perfect, omigosh it's perfect. You are a very, very lucky lady. God bless the internet - with it, no matter how far we live from other humans, we are never alone. Get netflix, a satellite dish and find your closest library (some will even mail books) and you have my perfect life.

Oh - and snow shoes. Get some snowshoes!

One day I mentioned that I'd like to have some shelves for my books... the next weekend he started working on this little project... I'm a lucky woman to have such a wonderful husband!

I've got books ... and thanks to my sweet man, a place to put them...

Heck he built the whole house... There are times I don't think there isn't anything he can't do... He never ceases to amaze me with all the things he can do or has done.

Sometimes it's almost intimidating.. I have to ask myself what do I really have to offer this man...? But then he hugs me and tells me he's happy.. So I guess it doesn't matter. He's happy with me and I'm happy with him.. life is good!

I love your cabin Catblue, my Dad built ours in 1998 and it is solid wood on the inside. My Mom keeps me a swiffering whenever I am there.
Looks like you will be a swiffering a lot too.
the snow even makes it look more inviting. Good luck on all that reading

LOL.. I'll share a cleaning tip I got from my DAD... spider webs are a cinch when you use a leaf blower on the ceilings and walls...

My Mom would shoot me if I fired up my leaf blower. I can just here her now, my precious antiques, what were you thinking? I love your Dad's idea, his plan sounds exactly like what my Dad would have tried.

                          well, ya ,there is that...

I always had lots of stuff... things sitting around... Antiques if you will. But when I met Finn his house was fairly Spartan... No clutter of things to be dusted.. I've found that I like that.. So I'm selling most of my stuff. I'm determined to live a clutter free life.. It takes so much less time to clean when the room is simple...

Just what you need... it's really changing my life..
