Folk will disagree wherein the disgrace lies, but the big issue is whether his claims can be substantiated by a dispassionate scientific and statistical analysis. Given the scientist's credentials we must suppose, prima facia, that there is evidence for his claims that is strong enough to be reviewed: but the case was not allowed to be heard.

Re: A disgrace
I'm with you... They had the perfect opportunity to tell him " Put up or shut up" Give the guy the chance to PROVE his assertions. Then we could have an open and honest discourse. I don't agree with him but considering his scientific credentials I'd be interested in hearing what data he has on the topic. Otherwise we're just censoring scientific research and data for the sake of political correctness.. And I don't agree with doing that. After all Gallalio was excommunicated because his scientific theory went against the accepted "science" of the day..
We nee to listen and challenge our assumptions or we'll make the same mistakes over and over. Now having said that... I'm highly skeptical.. but I'm willing to hear him out.. If he can actually defend/prove his view point we might approach many things differently.Life Motto: Know the difference between an inconvenience and a problem.
Age: I'll be 50 on August 16th

Re: A disgrace
I'm with you too Brian... everyone should be able to have their say... and then the discussion could start. It would have been interesting to see how he came by such a controversial theory. Before and after:

Re: A disgrace
Perhaps there are other avenues this person can take to have his views expressed? If he has scientific data relevant to help buisness owners in their decisions with regards to hiring then bring it on.
I doubt though that skin color has anything to do with how smart one is. I think it has more to do with socio/economic issues---where one was brought up, family dynamic, etc. Skin color is all about external pigment--our brains are all the same color of grey.....

Re: A disgrace
Results of a test, really? So there is a universal test? Or is that just a test that sits comfortably within developed Western societies?
The fact is that it is virtually impossible to devise an intelligence test that does not favour one social or ethnic group over another.
It's a bit like me going to Brazil, asking the locals who won the FA Cup in 1977, then concluding that they are all rubbish at football because none of them knew the answer.
The man is an abhorrent racist. That is what most people will say.
Well maybe he is. From somebody who has studied our genetic makeup for more than half his life, Pioneered a ground breaking technique used extensively in most civilised countries. Stood up against stupid Liberal opinions from failed Art students who chose Social Work because they couldn't draw their own house with their two daddies in the foreground as parents.
I think I know which camp I would sit in.
Just because his thoughts and research flows in the face of our over protective PC mamby pandering lifestyle...It doesn't make him wrong. Just controversial.
At least admire the chap for his contribution to science.
BTW this donut has courted controversy in the past, reportedly saying that a woman should have the right to abort her unborn child if tests could determine it would be homosexual.
He has suggested a link between skin colour and sex drive, proposing a theory that black people have higher libidos.
He also claimed that beauty could be genetically manufactured, saying: "People say it would be terrible if we made all girls pretty. I think it would be great."
The 79 year old geneticist, may well have proof that Africans are not the sharpest tool in the box, because no great inventions has come from Africa in the past 1,000,000 or so years, he may have a good point to make, but lets face it he will be gagged by the PC brigade.

Re: A disgrace
Yes... perhaps he is a racist and will be gagged by the PC brigade, but he still should be allowed to present his theories. I'm sure we'd most of us (here) be in the same camp over those theories, but still in fairness, he should be heard. Before and after:

Re: A disgrace
Of course he should be heard. "He's a racist" is becoming the old trick in the book. It attacks the speaker, and therefore by proxy his idea. Attack ideas, is a dangerous game, that I don't want.Hayden.
