Need Costume help

So, we've been invited to a white trash halloween party (oh yay, nothing like looking stupid for first impressions ) I'm not sure what white trash looks like. Am I already white trash? hehe....Gimme white trash costume ideas please!

Big floral muumuu or house coat, curlers, and a cigarette hanging out of your mouth. Flip flops? Carry a copy of the National Enquirer or other super cheap celebrity tabloid.

My friends and I went to a halloween party as white trash one year.

I wore holy jeans, a too-tight tank top with a black bra undernead (bra straps sticking out, of course), a terrible teased hairdo (white trash chicks are allll about the teased bangs), too much makeup... And I made a belt for my jeans out of Wal-mart shopping bags. I kept cigarettes handy, too.



My roommate (right) did the trucker hat thing, and my buddy Greg was the grandma. He wore a muumuu and house shoes and walked around pretending to smoke a cigarette and yelling at me and my roomie.



I think the most important thing is TERRIBLE TEASED HAIR! And maybe something with a Confederate flag on it. That's big in the white trash world.

hehe, thanks for the input, it's gonna be interesting, maybe I'll go to walmart. I think stains on shirts are good too....hmmm...I can definitely do too much make up....I haven't teased my hair since the early 90's lol!

I was going to say dress as a mummy or a toilet roll - but then ~I read on and realised I had "white Trash" wrong!!! lol I thought it meant just dress in white!! lol

I am not sure how to translate White Trash to Britain. It's not exclusively having no money. I'd say it's more of a state of mind. Involves, I think, lower standards for many things? You can be rich, and still white trash, though that's not considered the norm.

Jane, set your Sky+ box to record an episode of The Jeremy Kyle Show. Watch how the women behave on that, and you've got a pretty good match to "White Trash" idea.

White Trash is a term often used to describe relatively uneducated white Americans with bad personal habits in a typically low socio-economic class. The term is often directed at those who are not necessarily happy with their economic status, but do not attempt to better themselves through education or hard work. The term implies a lack of education and social refinement.

White Trash people are stereotyped as uneducated, lazy, vulgar, and showing little respect for authority or social norms. White Trash is often, though not always, seen as politically conservative.
Males are perceived to be white trash if interested in stereotypically "manly or macho" things, such as sports, especially hunting and motor sports, guns, tobacco smoked and chewed, alcohol, mostly beer and sex. hehe, well, I guess I can go as myself then eh? hehe!!

So I think I am just going to get some walmart tags and attach them to an outfit I've bought from there and let them show....I don't think I am going to do anything drastic other than maybe overdo the make up some. I dunno about teasing my hair, I haven't done that in years, may be out of practice.
