Does that mean type O would kill you?

                      Re: What's in your wallet?

No, but Japanese doctors, are not the sharpest tools in the box.

They would assume, that I was American, rather than European. Therefore they might pump B-type blood into me, as most Americans are. Rather than A-type, which I am.

Oh. I'm type O, so....I have no idea. I thought O blood was universal and anyone could take it. I would have assumed if your type was unknown they'd give you O.

Your thinking is correct about type-O being universal. However, Japanese doctors, are not as clever as American doctors. Shocking, but true.

I don't want to become another Japanese doctor, mistake statistic. So I wrote a little note for them, and put it in my wallet.

I learn something new every day.
Does it stand to reason then, that you might be able to assume your ancestry by your blood type? (Sorry for getting off of the wallet subject, but my simple mind found this facinating!)

It appears, that the predominate blood-type in Asia and Europe is A-type. The Americas is B-type. There are ALWAYS exceptions. I realise that I haven't answered your question. Sorry.
