I don't believe it.
love is what drives people together and my darling short daughter is dating a fabulous, somewhat short man who is very intelligent and wonderful! Her smallness is adorable and she's full of life and creativity as a dancer and choreographer and generally makes the world a better place just being here. I think things like that promote prejudice and should be ignored.

No, entirely plausible that in a few thousand years "selective breeding" driven by social factors should produce two distinct populations that retain the capacity to interbreed, but never do. The longer they remain distinct, the more they would diverge. How long it would take for the two populations to loose the capacity to cross breed, I don't know. Ha! Of course we all know the "mens sana in...", but I had never heard the "orandum est ut..." before it. Puts a very different slant on the rest of the quote! I wish I had so I could have fired that back to the coaches who loved to tout out the shortened version as they tortured us with windsprints.
