  • Does anyone else let their young kids take pictures?

I wanna know. We let the kids go around taking pics with the digital camera. And sure we get the occasional pic of a blank wall or a chair leg. But there are also lots of pictures of each other (the kids) and pics of things around the house, but all from their point of view. I was just going through some, and it is interesting to see things as they see it.

    Does anyone else do this?

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?

I haven't because I've always worried they'll break the camera. But maybe I'll have them do it, it'd be interesting to see!

Yes!! And I'm with you. It's fun to see the things that catch their eye and see it from their perspective.

Nikole - my 11 year old- has quite an eye and some talent with a camera. I love the pictures she takes.

Just cuz I'm a mom and it's my job, here are three of my favorites:

Taken on a paddle boat on the St. Croix when she was 7
This was taken by Nikole (she was 7) the day I had to my baby boy, Lightening, put down. He had cancer. It was 10 minutes before our appointment at the vet and Nikole took this picture of my baby boy and me. I love this picture. It's amazing to me.
Taken at the community center garden by Nikole (at 9 yrs old) Again...just a really cool, candid picture that made me go 'wow!'

Yeah. It's neat. With Sammy-Jammy though we get a lot more pictures of legs/arms/floor...it cracks me up!

Digital cameras are so much nicer than the old cameras where you had to pay to find out what you captured on film. Now we can just delete the blank walls and half of head shots. I think all kids should get a camera when they are old enough to handle it.

Brook, you made me cry with your picture of you and Lightning. How sad for you to have to do that.
