  • Re: Liar, Liar, Liar

Okay, times up! Suddenly things have quieted down for a moment! I can come in and finish this up so someone else can go.
    1) I once ran a half marathon and came in first place in my age group. True... I was the most surprised of anyone. There were so many people in front of me that it never even occurred to me that I could win anything at all. But I was only 16... and of course that was a million years ago, and kids didn't do that then. lol.
    2) I fed monkey's bananas from the balcony of a house in Costa Rica. True... They came by every afternoon! It was one of the coolest things ever... hundreds of little monkeys and they came up and ate out of our hands.
    3) I've Designed and built 3 custom homes. True... First our own home, then 2 more that we sold. Extremely hard work, tons of discisions to make... and I wasn't the architech, just worked with him and told him what I wanted and picked all the finishes, paint color, cabinets etc... so in that way I was the 'designer' but that IS a loose use of the word. Sorry Hayden.
    4) I speak spanish. True, but Muy mal! (very badly!) Everyday, I take care of spanish families and I use Spanish at work. I am going to take a class and learn more though. I really need it!
    5) I was crowned Fairest of the Fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. False... very kind of you all to not go for this one! but completely untrue. Just tried to think of the most ridiculous and improbable thing I could. But thanks for preserving my dignity and not picking this one categorically. Now I have my illusions. lol!
Okay, whose next? (Thanks Hayden, fun game... I was giggling all day!)

5 Things about me and I'll go for a theme, BRIDGES.

      1) I ridden a bicycle across 5 covered bridges in a single day of cycling in New Hampshire
      2) I have driven across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Maryland
      3) I have walked across the Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge in Boston
      4) I have walked across the Brooklyn Bridge in NY
      5) I have climbed the Sydney Harbor Bridge in Sydney NSW Australia

So, which one is the lie?

        Liz, well done !!

Was it Alexa that told us about the expression she'd heard "I won you". So true.

These were a lot of fun.

        Thank you !!

Liz - I realised last night that the house one was wrong after I recalled something you or your DH said! D'uh! Wow on the half marathon though

              g' morning liars!
Thanks Hayden! that's right, I won you! he he! ... Alexa... that's funny! The thing about that half marathon is that I'm most proud that I finished it. Probably didn't really have much competition... ha!
I am just going to make a wild guess here and pick something random as I don't know these bridges... so I pick # 4... nothing to base this on. Randomly chosen. These are pretty hard... they all seem plausible. ???

                      Brooklyn Bridge walk--http://www.wirednewyork.com/bridges/brooklyn_bridge/images/brooklyn_bridge_walk_12june04_s.jpg

Brooklyn entrance: If you're already in Brooklyn and want to walk to the Manhattan side, take the A to High Street. The walkway entrance is next to the Federal Court Building. There are stairs on Cadman Plaza East and Prospect Street or a ramp entrance on Johnson and Adams Streets.

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge takes 20 minutes to an hour depending if you stop and read the informative plaques along the way. The plaques give the bridge's history and also describe sights seen from the bridge as it would have looked to pedestrians in back in 1883 when the bridge opened.

I think the answer is number 5.

I think the lie is "I have climbed the Sydney Harbor Bridge in Sydney NSW Australia".

I think that Katlam has never been to Australia. In fact, only got as far as Tahiti.
