My wife has been quietly dieting and exercising. (Not low carb) She wont tell me what did weigh or what she does weigh, but she has gone down from English size 20 to almost 14. Perhaps one of our English ladies could translate those figures into American numbers. My dear wife has been putting off buying new clothes till we get back to England after Christmas - goodness know what it will cost!
Now, I have been joking for a while that she needs to borrow a pair of my braces (In the US you call them suspenders, but in UK those hold up lady's old fashioned stockings, not men's trousers (pants))
Well the inevitable has happened and the skirts she has now pass over her hips - not a pretty sight as we clean the house prior to the move. So I did it. I quietly fixed a pair of my braces to one of her skirts and hung it on the outside of her wardrobe. I then went off to tank-up the car.
On my return I was greeted with "Thank you for the braces." She is wearing them yet!
