  • When a child gets too personal

    http://www.shutterfly.com/jsp/proces...219a64705a35ba

There was an episode on Andy Griffity where Opie had to buy his teacher, Miss Crumpt, a birthday present. He picked out a pair of hose- guess it was before pantyhose, She felt really creepy about it. Well it happened to me. Seven year old nephew gave me a pair of really nice black Donna Karam pantyhose for Christmas. Now, I'm his 53 year old Aunt. I wondered how he picked this out, if he fantasized me wearing them. Where were his parents- surely they had to give him the money or at least a ride to the mall. This ever happen to you girls- and what did you think?

I'm sure he just thought since you're a "girl" that girls wear pantyhose and that's why he got that for you. I am sure it was entirely innocent.

it seems to me that his mom bought them and just put his name on them. I have a six year old and I can't imagine him even thinking about a buying a gift like that. At that age they have a hard time thinking about anything else but themselves. So I bet the mom put his name on it and told him about it so he might get the idea about giving to others. Also she might have given him a list of things that you might like and he picked the easiest. Just my thoughts

I have a 7 year old and I don't think he even knows what pantyhose is.... lol. I'd be willing to bet his mom bought them and stuck his name on the gift.

I tend to think it was mom, who knows you are a teacher and wear pantyhose so that was a practical gift. I have a 7 year old grandson and everything he does and says is innocent in his mind, altho sometimes he's shocked me with actions and remarks. Unless there are other actions that he's displayed to suspect he is troubled...then I'd just let it go and thank him for the beautiful stockings.
