Oh yea! LOL, I didn't word that well. My own personal accounting is fantastic. I can even make sweets and not eat them and such now. Just recently I made a pineapple upside down cake (which I adore) for some friends of mine and didn't touch a bit of it. I was saying as far as people eating things around her she can't have on this WOL will never change. It is going to happen all the time. Your own personal resolve will get better to where you can resist almost anything. Sorry I said that poorly! Thanks Debi! -hugs-

The moral of this story is! YOU CAN DO IT.

Oh, I am so with you on this one. I started doing this diet 10 years ago. Man, I wish I had stuck with it, just imagine! But now that I know, at 41, that I am surely doing it right and sticking with it.

I was working at home doing transcription so I was in straight up denial. I never went anywhere really so I didn't ever really buy clothes and I just ballooned. It was amazing how I let myself go...how much I avoided the mirror. Then I got sick on top of it. But even when I got well, I still just "avoided" it somehow. It's amazing how strong our minds can be for the negative. We need to rework it and use it for the positive. I find that most times when I would fail, I wouldn't plan. That may be a key for you.

Just don't give up and don't leave. We are here to help you through. I have had lots of help so I hope to have the chance to give some too.

yeah, I guess I can blame my not doing well on my lack of workout partner, my b/f eating a bag of carmel corn in front of me, the office birthday party but ultimately it's me.

I need to get control of my willpower and do this for me.

          Hi Thumper
One way I managed to get through those first few weeks on induction was to make sure I always had something 'legal' (that I liked) available.
Plan, plan and plan some more so you are never in the position where someone else if eating something yummy and you have to watch them in frustration.
Make your meals really tasty and luxurious if you can - Atkins is not like those 'rabbit food' low fat diets. If the budget will stretch to steak smothered in blue cheese or lobster or some other decadent kind of food then how can you feel deprived
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Yes, you sit down with some steak and lobsters and a side of asparagus and they will be the ones wishing they were on your diet!

Re: Hopeless or just learning? those who have lost please tell me

I agree--eat those "decadent" foods and people will be ready to give an arm and a leg to join you. My co-workers didn't have any idea I was on a "diet" until I told them! They would see me eat chicken, cheese, big salads, eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh veggies, STEAK, butter, (and later in the rungs) berries and melon, yogurt, cottage cheese, apples with peanut butter, almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, beans with salsa and sour cream, whole grain bread, starchy veggies, etc.

Honestly. I can't count the times I sat there and ate a large and satisfying (and tsk tsk "FATTY") lunch while my co-workers choked down their lean cuisines, oogling my food choices.

Don't think about what you can't have...unless that includes high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, insulin resistance, heart attack, joint deterioration and misery.

Think about what you WILL have--amazing food choices, improved health, more energy, a longer lifespan, glowing skin, shiny hair, mental acuity and basically THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH on your dinner plate.
