  • I have a getting-rid-of-clutter question?

I am totally for donating. I belong to freecycle.com where you share your used stuff with other people for free. But I think that tossing any kind of old footwear that was used is a good idea. Ewwww ...the bacteria factor, fungus - think most of the old shoes belong to the "unhygienic gross trash" -category. I don't usually donate shoes unless they are very gently used. But OMG, i found those 13yrs old pull-on boots in a box in the bottom of my closet

They have been sitting for a long time and the leather has degraded as well. I am not a throw awayer, so my qurestion is:
Are those 13yrs old leather boots donation items or just plain old gross trash? Are they reusable items or burnable garbage?

Id say it just depends on what you want to do with them. I have seen ppl buying much worse at the thrift store. I love finding vintage clothes. Never seen shoes there worth buying but some ppl do.

Once a picked up some old boots to make a planters out of. I drilled holes in the bottom for drainage and filled them up with dirt and petunias. It was really cute. So I say, go ahead and donate them, and let the reciever decide what to do with them .
