well WOMEN! I see them all the time- clomping along, shoulders hunched forward, looking at the ground. What ever happened to gliding along, leading with your hips, breasts thrust out, head poised- like women. Didn't their mothers ever teach them these things? And surely men can't be attracted to women who walk like a schmoo. Ladies used to attend classes that tought this- I guess thats no more. Pitty what used to be.

Re: women who don't walk like....
Well I agree that no-one should slouch along the street looking like their heart is in their shoes, but I personally am very glad that women aren't taught nonsense like walking around with a book on their head and getting in and out of minis without flashing their knickers (though some famous singers could do with this info
).
I personally always wear comfy but not too hideous schools - if I'm walking somewhere I like to get there fast without giving myself bunions. Also I don't feel safe teetering about in heels unless I'm with a big crowd - I like to think I can scram or kick someone in the head if needs be. I know that's not what you were saying but I get antsy about the idea of women gliding about the place all impractical, and heels is part of that for me. More than one way of being a woman I guess, it's up to the person.

Re: women who don't walk like....
I think I agree partly. I do like the fact we dont HAVE to act like "proper ladies" anymore like long ago, but I think we should still try. Just because we dont have to doesnt mean we shouldnt. However, sometimes you just want comfort over everything else. Then, again, sometimes, it sure feels good to look and feel elegant and feminine. So, I can see both sides.
When I was thin, (and single, lol) I made a point to walk a certain way (I have never admitted this before now) I even had a few guys comment on my hop swaying walk (in a good way) I felt sexy, beautiful and feminine. I notice that this quit when I quit feeling on the inside beautiful enough to show it on the outside. I am slowly getting my confidence back though. I am a mother of 4 now and older and will probably never on a regular basis make a point to swing my hips as I walk and put one foot in front of the other like a model strut but it sure is fun on rare occasion, lol.Mindy

Re: women who don't walk like....
Well, I know that if I were to walk with my breasts thrust forward, swaying hips, gliding along at work, I'd either be summoned to my boss' office because of inappropriate behavior or be cat-called by high school male students.
Does this mean I'm not a "lady" because I don't look like I graduated from Charm School? No. My walk is strong and proud, yet graceful. In my walk, it is evident that I am proud, that I take care of myself, that I have strength. I don't feel the need to exaggerate the sway of my hips or advertise my sexuality.
Don't confuse bad posture with being "unfeminine". Bad Posture is bad posture, whether you're wearing heels or not.START 8/16/06 @ 270+~MG1: 220-12/2/06~MG2: 210-1/07~MG3: 199-3/2/07~MG4: 190-4/27/07~MG5: 180-7/04/07~GOAL: 170
