  • For those of you that hang you clothes outside

How do you keep you clothes from attracting lint. I don't know. It seems like when my clothes comes out of the washer they have lint on them, especially the towels. When I throw them in the dryer, it takes care of the lint problem but when I hang them outside the lint just hangs on. I remember as a kid I always had to use a towel with lint and most of my clothes had lint on them too. I hated that. I just assumed my mom washed them wrong or washed them with a kleenex in the pocket or something but I have the same problem and it's driving me crazy! Anyone have a solution. I've tried a liquid fabric softener and it didn't help.
    Thanks

I do hang a lot of my clothes, but not outside. I don't usually have problem with lint with my clothes, but I imagine blankets or towels would be more linty. The only thing I could suggest is using a lint brush. If I'm not mistaken, fabric softener works by breaking down the fabric, thus making it softer, which means your clothes don't last as long and they create even more lint. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, I hope you find the solution that you're looking for.

We stopped hanging clothes outside 'cause of the bugs that came riding in on them after they dried!!

could you dry your clothes as normal and then give them a low heat toss in the dryer for 10 minutes or so? that might remove any lingering lint.

I love to hang my clothes on the line! As I read this, I was wondering if your washing machine has some type of problem, because I don't have a lint situation with towels or anything else. I absolutely dislike fabric softener as it lesses fabrics ability to absorb water, which is especially noticeable in towels.

Are you washing towels in with your regular laundry? I always do towels and sheets separate from clothing, so maybe that is why I don't have lint on the clothing.

            Creek,
I think you got it. I do the same things with my clothes and don't ever wash towels with T shirts for that reason...

              Hmmmmmmm....I went to this site:

and it says that using a cup of vinegar in the wash prevents lint. I assume they mean the white distilled vinegar. You could give it a try.
