  • What 'cha readin'?

    Hi Everyone!

I have been compulsively going through my books; re-reading the best of them and even went out and purchased something new (by my favourite author; I actually cheered out loud, all by myself in WalMart, when I saw she had a new one out!) and devoured it in less than 24 hours. I am looking for a new read to pick up this weekend.

I have just finished The Flying Troutmans by Miriam Toews (awesome Canadian author - very colourful characters and a delight to read) She's also written A Complicated Kindness, The Summer of my Amazing Luck and A Boy of Good Breeding.

I also highly recommend any memoir written by Jen Lancaster (Bitter is the New Black, Bright Lights, Big ***, and Such A Pretty Fat) This woman makes me laugh my head off. She also has a blog at www.jensylvania.com. That last one is pretty much guaranteed get you through the diet thing with some side-splitting hysterics; she tries Atkins, Jenny, WW... personal trainers... she's fab. (Note: Jen, if you're reading this - I'll gladly, but humbly take a percentage of those sales peaks if you're so inclined!)

I'm really into anything that is going to make me laugh out loud. Memoirs and autobiographies are my flavour lately. I love learning about people and how they perceive their worlds.

So, come on everyone. Dish. What 'cha readin'????

Right now I'm halfway through my "Great Book of Amber" which has all the books from the Amber Chronicles written by Roger Zelazny. the book has over 1000 pages, so its a long read but its SO good! I read all the individual books many years ago and bought this two weeks ago.

Currently on my bedside table: Wonderful Tonight: George Harrison, Eric Clapton and Me by Pattie Boyd; Graceful Simplicity by Jerome M. Segan; Provence A-Z by Peter Mayle; and Three Plums in One, a "Stephanie Plum" triology by Janet Evanovich. Truthfully, I spend so much time online that I don't read nearly enough anymore. The internet is such a drug!

Today, I am reading Big Bad Wolf by James Patterson. I just finished the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer, and Carpe Demon. I need to go to the bookstore to pick up the new one by Jackie Kessler that follows ****'s Belles, as well as the newest from Kim Harrison, CHarlaine Harris, and Karen Chance. I'm such a dork.

the man in blue - if you have not read this yet, I highly recommend it. It is changing my whole world, both a home and at work.

I've only read Eragon, but LOVED it. I think I will stop by the library one of these days and pick up the others.
