  • Anyone catch Oprah yesterday?

I'm not usually a huge fan of hers, but I thought yesterday's show was eye opening. She discussed, very very candidly, her weight issues and recent weight gain.

I was really impressed by her honesty and ability to admit her faults and struggles (which are the same as everyone elses). It must be very hard to do in front of a camera, and millions of people.

Anyoneone else see the show? Thoughts?

I only caught the last 5 minutes or so. Looked like it was a good one though. And it's gonna be an ongoing topic for her this year so others can follow along. I don't usually watch O but I would like to see the one today with Dr. Oz.

Caught only the last 10 minutes too! But, it sounded like they were talking "low-carb".

Yes actually cutting the carbs was mentioned a few times! I was more interested in watching for the 'why's' of weight gain and was surprised.

She went over her current daily menu, and it was basically meats/fish and lots of veggies, with 1/2 sweet potato and a serving of steel cut oats as the only sources of starches/carbs. Which is fairly low carb. I was impressed.

My husband actually came into the room and said 'why is she stil whining about her weight, she has tons of money, she can just hire someone to cook her food and a personal trainer.' I explained to him that that's exactly her point, having all that money doesn't matter. It's still a personal struggle no matter what (of course, he has no weight problem so he still didn't get it LOL).

I feel sorry for Oprah. I could relate to much of what she said. It let me know that money means nothing. Here I am, making NOTHING compared to her, and I am going thru the same weight struggles.
