Snow day!!!!!!!!!!!

    Snow day!!!!!!!!!!!

    we are buried here in indianapolis today. I had to go out and help my fiance dig his car out of the driveway...my car is in the garage and yeah...i decided that i am NOT going to kill myself to get to work. our porch has 10 inches of snow and it's STILL snowing...

    i called in to work (thank god for PTO) - i'm NOT killing myself to get there (or get back tonight).

    the news is saying that if there's 1.8 more inches to show up today then it'll be worse than the worst on record (1996 saw about 12 inches)

    anyone else snowed in??

    Snowing here in VT. The weather man just announced instead of the 14" predicted we could get up to 20". All the schools are closed & the State has asked people to stay off the roads unless it is an emergency. I'm home today as it is my scheduled day off!!

      NO! and that really ticks me off! ##%%$&^%$#$#$ weatherman! We were promised snow again yesterday, but only got freezing rain. I love snow. I had my pot of chili going and cooked up a lot of snow day foods, but no snow! We have about an inch of ice, which I do not like at all.

          well, here in indy - alllll winter long so far we've had like 4 different times when the weatherman SWORE we'd be getting winter storms and then here in indy we'd get literally a dusting - this winter so far (not including today) we've only had a total of 6 inches - about 1 inch 6 total days...and by now we normally have about 13 inches...

          so today's the first day that the weatherman's actually been right. i'm normally NOT a snow person - but it is VERY pretty out there. of course, i'm originally from the chicago-land area in northwest indiana and my parents have been POUNDED with snow this winter - so it's finally 'our' turn here in the middle of the state.

          if you want some, i'll gladly send some your way...

              We were supposed to get only about an inch of snow before it turned to rain here in CT. So far we have about 3inches since last night and the snow is still falling. *sigh* I'm kinda done with winter, unfortunately Mother Nature isn't.

                well - something good came out of all this snow...i told my fiance i'd shovel the driveway while staying home today - he didn't belive me...and 260 burned calories later!!!!
                (yes, i wore my heart rate monitor while shoveling the drive, lol)

                  My son is up in Burlington (Childhood Hunger Campaign) and was supposed to fly down to DC this evening. Pretty good chance he's not going to make it, is he? I bet that State of yours is beautiful with a good snowfall.

                  Where abouts are you in Vermont?

                  I'm in Ohio with about 8-9" of snow.

                      I'm in Vermont as well and getting the snow as we speak. I would guess wehave about 8 inches right now with more to come the heaviest downfall is expected between 4 and 8 tonight. Like Glenda said we are expecting close to 20 inches in some areas about 16 where I'm at. I will post pictures when all is said and done. We are tucked inside keeping warm and not going anywhere now that I'm home from work.

                        Yeah! We were predicted to get 1 to 2 inches of snow after midnight tonight. It started before dark and we already have about 3 inches of very heavy, wet snow. Yoohoo!

                          Today was in the upper 40's. It felt so good to walk in my shirt sleeves instead of being bundled up like an Eskimo. I know there'll be more snow but I am sooo ready for Spring already!

                            It was 56 degrees here mid-day, but the temps fell really fast and then the snow started. I had already planned to grill chicken, so I went ahead, but I got really cold and wet in the snow. I know my neighbors think I'm nuts!

                            I was making a big recipe of guacamole when I noticed that it was 56 degrees, so I decided when I finished, I would go walk. By the time I finished, it was pouring down snow.
