Anyone here from Boston or is familiar with it?

I am going up to boston for 2 nights. Where should I stay?

I was thinking of staying in cambridge, what do you think?

Where should I eat? Is there any night clubs with good music in the area?

I am going in the winter so I expect it to be cold.

    Re: Boston

    Hey Tom,
I live about 30 mins from Boston and it's always my favorite place to go for a fun time out.
Cambridge is great, you can kick around Harvard Square (very nutty-crunchy) always a lot going on.
As far as going out for music T.T. the Bears has music every night and usually some real good stuff. Check out there website for the weekend that you are going to be here.
As far as places to stay I have only ever stayed downtown on the waterfront, but I'm sure you can find someplace fun in Cambridge to stay.
My favorite place to go is the North End.....very Italian and the best place to go for espresso! Not a lot in the way of music though, more on food (better yet stay away!)
The Fenway has some great clubs too.
Anyway enjoy your time here and dress warm, it's "wicked" cold!

Also the House of Blues just opened in the Fenway. It's owned by Dan Akroyd so I'm sure they'll have some big headliners, If you like the blues.

        Re: Boston

I went to Boston 2 years ago on a conference and absolutely loved it. I stayed right downtown at the Sheraton, but it was huge $$ which i wouldn't pay for a personal trip.

The North End that Shagio mentioned, the italian neighbourhood is very cool to visit. A few people had recommended the restuarants there to me too.

Since i was on a per diem expense budget I didn't end up eating at too many restaurants, stuck with cheaper places and the conf food, I did splurge one night and eat at Legal Seafood and loved it.

I ended up visiting everything 'tourisity' while I was there: Paul Revere's house, Quincy Market, Bull and Finch etc...and did it all on foot. I just grabbed a tourist map and off I went. The biggest problem was getting disoriented due to the fact that all of the streets curve! But it made it that much more interesting.

The only things I didn't do that I wish i had was take a Duck Boat tour, and visit Fenway. In hindsight I wish I had!
