  • The Oscars...

So any thoughts? What did you think of the new 'format'? the performances? the host? Did who you wanted to win..win?

I thought Hugh Jackman was awesome personally, His opening number was great. It's been a while I think, not since Billy Crystal, that they've had such and entertaining and multi-talented host.

I am ecstatic about Slumdog millionaire, loved it so much I've seen it twice.

Would have been nice to see Mickey Rourke win, I've seen the wrestler, and though the story was sort of flat and predictible, he did do an awesome acting job.

I hear that Sean Penn was fabulous as well in Milk though...and that it was well deserved.

    Re: The Oscars...

i love hugh jackman. if ernie runs off to join the circus i will go and find hugh and become his latest girlfriend.

i will just be a putz here and say that i LOVE movies. i hate the oscars. overrated. but that is just me. maybe it is something about a group of celebrities who make themselves more celebrity by dressing in clothes that no one could ever afford and taking photos of themselves and giving themselves huge statues for their work.

i'm just getting grumpy in my old age.

but i HAVE ordered lots of the flicks to see at home and i am really looking forward to slumdog millionaire. in our one horse town "the reader" was here for only a week. it is hard to contend with the teen flicks horror films and such. (sigh)

i saw an interview sunday morning with the man who "man on wire" as written about. the man who walked the high wire between the twin towers...EEK! i ordered that on netflix too. i am a sucker for crazy stories. and interesting people. and i guess i think most movies stars are NOT.

        Milk is a fantastic movie.

I did not watch the awards last night, I will later today I can't wait to see them

I enjoyed brad pitts movie, but am so glad Sean Penn won for leading actor... I did not think Brad's role was worth an academy award.

Thrilled for kate too... its about bloody time!

Slum dogs... WOO HOO! So exciting when a dark horse wins... kind of like when Nora Jones took grammy's home... I love it when the awards are deserved... not just expected because the letters in your name!

I loved that Slumdog won - it was a great movie.
The only other big one I seen is the curious case - which I thought was cute (like Pitt is cute) I want to see Doubt and the Reader soon.

I loved Heath Ledger. I don't know if he really deserved it, although it was an awesome performance, I just wanted him to win. He was excellent in Brokeback Mountain, and in Monster's Ball. If you haven't seen either you should give them a watch.

I've heard Milk and Slumdog are wonderful movies.
