        Re: headaches

are you still on induction? Maybe you should move up to OWL and add 5 more veggie carbs a day -- are you getting enough fats in each day? What are your daily totals in FitDay?

I am worried that I will get headaches as soon as I begin. Any way to prevent headaches?

How long have you been on induction? Your first post being May 2 suggests not that long. Headaches as occur sometimes in the first few days of induction typically resolve once your body has switched over to and adjusted to ketosis.

Have you checked with your doctor to diagnose anything else that could be causing 5 weeks of headaches?

                Re: headaches

The detox headaches should respond to pain relievers. There is no reason to suffer with a headache when an Aleve or Motrin will help it.

                  Re: headaches

Eat a peice of leftover meat, keep boiled eggs on hand or a snack from the oked list and it will bring your bloodsugar back up and you won't get that headache or dizzy feeling.
With this diet you need to eat small amounts, more often. I eat all the time and still have lost the inches and have lost lbs in the past (waiting on that now!). I have been on a basic Atkins principle type diet most of my adult life to control my Hypoglycemia, my ex husband used to be amazed... "how do you stay so thin and eat all the time!" I was a size 8 then.

At the times you used to run for a candybar, grab protein instead. Those old habits were your body telling you your bloodsugar was dropping, you just went for the junk food instead of what you needed.

                  Hope it helps

                    Re: headaches

You will get headaches from quitting caffeine - one way to avoid them is to quit caffeine gradually, before you start atkins. Start with only 1 cup coffee, no pop, then 1/2 cup coffee then 1/4...or something like that. Decaf is OK, but does contain some caffeine.

Hi JulieB, Boy do I know that caffeine addiction! I'm not a coffee drinker, but my morning CAN NOT start with out diet Dr. Pepper! I should invest in the company! Goodness knows I keep their trucks rolling down the road!
