It's understandable to feel that way, more importantly it’s good that you recognize it because not everyone understands their dependency on being overweight. However, we both know it’s not healthy. For you, those beautiful babies should be part of your motivation to lose it. Not only will you feel good about yourself but you will live longer and be healthier for your children, and set the example of a healthy diet. It's difficult, but you have to find your motivation from somewhere and run with it. My motivation? I don't want to end up struggling and overweight my whole 20's and/or get diabetes or some other weight related disease (which I felt I was on the brink of). You have to have something more than vanity to carry you along, not that there is anything wrong with that but it does take more to sustain you in those low moments. Good luck and all the best...

I'd be more scared of the prospect of being 350lbs by 2012 and 450 by 2015... and think about the possible view your GRANDchildren would get of you...

i wouldn't say its ok, but i'd say its normal.
i never weighed myself in high school. the first time i stepped on a scale i was 18 and it said 212. i went down to 180, then 'life got in the way', or as i say, i -let- life get in the way. because being happy with myself seemed too far away and i didnt want to try and fail. it took about 6 years to figure that out. by 21 i was 250lbs. now i'm 24 and 209. i know getting lower will be scary again, but i'd rather be nervous about being in a 'new' body than being in one i can't stand.

It would be easier for you to stay the way you are - unhealthy, sluggish, feeling sorry for yourself each and every day, or you can take your health in your own hands and become the person you want to be. Don't do this for your kids or your mother, husband, friends - do this for yourself.

You have to be ready mentally to start and stay on this journey. You have to use the food you eat for energy to get through the day - not as something to do when you are tired, bored, lonely, whatever. As soon as you find a way to do that you will have most of the battle won.

Once you decide this is really what you want you will be able to get over the daily hurdles that have been keeping you from being happy and getting to your goal. Good luck.
