    Another question!!!

Resently I had to do a system restore on my old computer. Then I found that my installed software didn't work.
The first one I installed back was Windows Media Player. before my problems I ran, WMP 7.1. When I went to the web site to install another one. I was only offered the WMP 9. I run Windows ME OS.
Now for my problem. With the 7.1 version, I was able to upload CD's that I had bought and save on harddrive and burn them to CD-R's, now I can't. Is there a way to get around this situation?
I wish I had my WMP 7.1 back, but they don't offer it. Guess they are trying to force us old OS users to upgrade to XP.
It is strange but the files can be played on WMP, but these files do not show up in My Music folder. Wonder where they are?
The song files I got off the net can be burned to CD-R's, but the song files on my computer that I uploaded from store bought CD's can't. What a bummer.
I know this has to be something with copywright issues, but I sure don't like it. After all I bought the CD. I just like to make an extra one for my car and keep the original one for the house use.
    Just had to vent .
    Thanks for reading.

Windows Media Player is one of the worst programs for burning CD's. Check your computer for other utility software that may have come with it. If you do not find any, the I'm sure someone can jump in here with a software recommendation for you.

      Thanks for the advice.

I would use WMP 7.1 to upload the store bought CD, but I would use Adeptac easy Cd creator(Rosco).
But now if I go to a folder with music I stored from a boughten CD, it shows it isn't there in the Cd burning software.

      I think it is hopeless.

I use Roxio and iTunes and would recommend each.

I'm with Perry. iTunes is free at apple.com (there is a Windows version) and it will copy CDs for you in addition to being a great jukebox. It will also burn CDs. but I haven't tried that (I use Nero) so I don't know how it works. But give iTunes a try.
