Does anyone know how to get rid of a computer virus that Norton fails to repair. My daughters laptop has a virus that Norton doesn't repair.

Are you sure it is a virus and not spyware/adware? What are the symptoms? I find that Norton (if kept up to date) eradicates all known viruses. -

Thanks Perry for tidbit....I was able to go into safe mode and get rid of it. It was adware. For some reason...she has her Norton updating only every 14 days. I do mine more frequently.
Another question....A lot of people are recommending Firefox vs. internet explorer. I was told that it has very little pop ups on it and that it runs smoother. I put it on mine and it seems slower. I run on broad band. Do you have any opinion on it?

Microsoft owns the code for Internet Explorer 'and' the operating system so their product may indeed perform more efficiently than Firefox on certain PC's. I run both and find the initial load of Firefox to take longer - but browsing quicker. Then again, I also use a Macintosh and run Safari as my browser and have 0 issues with pop-ups, performance or malicious viruses/spyware. <grin>Comment
