Missing my windows toolbar and can't figure out how to get it back!

Sheesh.

It seems someone made the windows toolbar (the one across the bottom of the screen with Start and the quicklaunch and all that jazz) go POOF!

I can't figure out how to get it back.

Right clicking in the blank space doesn't work or give me anything with "toolbars" or settings or anything.

I need the start button! Helllllllllp, please?!

If you put the mouse pointer where the bar was it should pop up. To make it permanent...I'm not sure...I usually hit all the F keys when stuff like that goes away...but I don't recommend doing that! Lol!

And against your advice, I tried all the F keys (with your advice. LMAO) and still no dice. ARGH!!!

go to "My computer", (I'm using XP.. hope this helps) click on "change a setting", click on appearance and themes, at the bottom of that screen it'll have something about taskbar and start menu.. click on it, try clicking on the keep taskbar on top of other windows?

Hi Origam! Thanks for replying!

I can access Taskbar/Start Menu properties through the control panel and found the area you're talking about. Keep the taskbar on top of other windows is checked, as is show quick launch and show the clock, and yet none of them are here! ARGH!

I've tried to click and drag on the area to see if it's just been squished down real skinny, ya know? That's not doing the trick either.

I'm all ears/eyes! If I can't get this fixed tonight, hopefully the IT guy here at work will get it fixed. This computer is the guys' puter to play on (which is why I have access at night), so one of them was clicking on stuff they shouldn't have been. LOL!

You may want to look at the setting of the monitor, specifically the v-position, someone may have adjusted it down so that the bar is not visible. Try adjusting the v-position (vertical position) up a little and see if you start seeing the bar as it adjusts up.

Try hovering at the very bottom of the screen, does the cursor turn to an arrow, if so press the left button down and drag up. Always accidentally hiding the taks bar in that way!

if you are using IE the 3rd word oin top of your screen should be VIEW click it and toolbars should be the first line on the pull down. put the mouse on it and a whole bunch of options will appear on the right tell it to lock your toolbar ans if you have a mess of them tell it which one you want too. I can have the XP or AOL or Yahoo norton security one.
