if you are using the free McAfee know you are vunerable to Nola, NetSky, and mydoom at least they were the week before Christmas cause my computer for emails got them all and when I called to ask why their antivirus had allowed that and din't even know I was infected the customer service lady said they were having troubles right then with those 3 and sent me to theior site for instructions for cleaning it up.

Spyware: AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy

      Firewall: Zone Alarm Pro

Virus: NOD32 (http://www.nod32.com) Scans thoroughly and quickly, updates itself every day, and is not a resource hog like the Norton's of the world.

I have been reading on Amazon.com other customers replies of all the problems they had while installing Norton Internet Securities 2006. Now I am nervous to buy and install it, for fear that I will have lots of trouble with it.

I used to use Norton and had no problem installing it but if I were to choose between Norton and McAfee I'd choose McAfee every time.

I use (and recommend) McAfee AntiVirus and Firewall. In fact I use the Complete Security Suite 2006. It includes the antivirus, firewall, antispyware and spamkiller. I don't get any viruses or any spyware - and my internet habits would put me at high risk.

If you can't afford the McAfee Suite 2006, then a friend of mine swears by Grisoft's AVG because its free - however, I was at her house a couple of weeks ago sorting out her PC after she got a virus.

Btw, if you did decide to buy Norton, I would be happy to talk you through the installation via pm's on here or via MSN Messenger if you are worried
