Uploading a pic for an avitar

I decided its time to upload a pic for my avitar. So I chose the photo, went to paint to size and skew it, resaved it, then went to photobucket to convert it. Then I got the message that its pixel count was too high. So how do I edit that?

If you go to the "Image" menu and select "Attributes" then change the units to "pixels" and specify 80 by 80 pixels then save it....that should do it.
