  • Thinking of buying an Ipod!

And I dont know which one to go for. The only specification I really have is that I must be able to clip it to my running shorts when running. I do not want one that you strap to your arm.

thoughts anyone? This is one I have foind so far.

ok saves you all responding, but I have already decided. I am definitely buying this one. I can get it in the Uk for £69 1 gigabyte, enough storage for 240 songs.

The new shuffle is great for jogging as its solid state... I found the old shuffle awful though, so consider a nano which is also solid state but with a screen... you can get arm straps.

I dont like the thought of the arm straps to be honest with you. I am also interested in the shuffle as would like to be able to shuffle my songs.

That thing will clip to my shorts, or my top and it will be perfect

Richt, I want the nano. I just can't decide whether to get the 2 gig or the 4 gig. I also want the little thingie that goes in the nike running shoe that counts distance, time etc. I already told my DH that's what I want for Christmas.
I told my mom I want the shoes
and I told my sister to get me the thing that goes in the shoes
          LOL

Oh, btw, that's how we do things in our family....we tell each other exactly what we want...give them several options usually.

It really makes Christmas go beautifully...everyone gets what they want!

When I was a little girl, I told my mom I wanted Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. I helped my mom and grandmother make them, I helped wrap them, and they were the first thing I opened Christmas morning LOL

Joy, do you have a link to the thing that goes in your shoe that counts your mileage?

Re: Thinking of buying an Ipod!

Rich, the Nano allows you to see what you are picking to listen too, the shuffle means you pick by clicking and hearing, no scanning...they make a huge variety of clips and little holster type things so you can clip the ipod. I have the Nano...it's more than I will ever need, and I easily found an accessory so I could clip.
Good luck. I think I listened to a low carb Podcast at itunes one time...there are so many free down loads on the podcast site within itunes...easy listen stuff too.

Re: Thinking of buying an Ipod!

                    Rich,

I have a shuffle and a mini-ipod, the shuffle is much better for exercising with - I love mine. I only download music that I'd exercise to anyway, so you dont really need to touch it once you start it! The mini is good, since you can store more music on it, but for the hour or so I exercise the shuffle is much better. The only thing is to make sure you can get a belt clip for it, as mine just has a neck strap, and if you're jogging, it does tend to move about a bit, but I tend to tie it to whatever machine I'm on.

                    Hope that helps

Re: Thinking of buying an Ipod!

Jane I am looking for something that will hold atleast 2.5 hours of music as that tends to be the maximum amount of time that I run for.

Eventually, when I am doing full marathons, which is likely to be around a year from now, I will need 5 hours of music

I ordered the IPOD shuffle off of the internet last night for just £55

FYI you can shuffle your songs on the nano too it also comes in 8gb form and is encased in aluminium, my old nano is scratched to **** like my video (same design).

I think you'll be happy with the new shuffle though, its tiny and clips on.

Hi Richt, check audibles.com. I got mine for free last year 2gig nano one not the shuffle right around Christmas when i signed up for a year of audibles. It may have the same thing this year. It cost me about $180 i mean, sorry i had to look it up bucks but i got 12 credits for books to download with it. Just a thought. There may be some good deals and sales going one since Christmas is coming up.
