Mac laptop to a wireless PC network

Hello, Anyone have any experience connecting a Mac laptop to a PC based wireless network (802.11b)?

I thought I had it set up properly but while the laptop says it's connected to my network and it can see the shared printer, it can't get onto the internet.

If I get this working I will be my wife's hero so any thoughts you have would be appreciated.

I can only offer hope - my nephew did it and it worked great when he showed it off to me. I couldn't believe it was a Mac!

OH good grief. I figured it out. I assumed that because the wireless network was new and the laptop was new that I had some something wrong with the router or something. Instead it turns out that the school Julie works set up the laptop with manual proxy settings. One little radio button click and I was good to go after about 4 hours of fuzting around with it.
