My start/task bar that is usually at the bottom of my screen (running Internet explorer) with my clock on it, is gone! I was exiting out of a shockwave game, and my bar left with it! how do I put it back?

It probably got hidden so it wouldn't interfere with the shockwave program. Are you running Windows XP? Go to your Control Panel and there is a taskbar/Start menu icon. Check your settings there.
This happened to me a while ago. I don't remember what I did exactly to get it back. -

While holding down the <cntl> key, hit the <esc> key.

It didn't work to go in and check my task bar settings, but now I know how to do that thanks to you.
I logged off and came back on again and that solved it.
