okay I was given PC Cillian lastest and greatest for free so set it up and told it olkay to automatically update itself but now when it does that it turns my AOL off when it gets done even if I'm in the middle of using it.

Can I change this some where or doi I just delete the whole antivirus protection program cause I'm not going to reboot the compeuter every time it updates as it does it 2-3 times a day. I can't find any screen to allow me to change any setting for it at all.

What version of AOL are you using? I don't know much about pc cillian but I've read that there are issues with certain Windows and AOL versions along with certain firewall software.

whatever the lastest greatest one is as AOL is constantly updating my product. I tried it with just the comcast open in the IE window and the fricking thing shut down ADBB too. I tell you i'm ready to go back to the old virus protection of the norton even if it does let spyware in.

hmmm, interesting 2 big, I had Mcafee 8 and Norton and both affected my photo printer. I had to dump the software and I ended up loading PC-cillian which works great.

I don't like any software to auto update and I turn off all of those features. If you need to use pc-cillian, like me....then shut off the auto update feature and you should be good to go.

I use PCCillin Internet Security 2005 and do not see any option within it to disconnect after downloading virus patterns. I suspect it has to do with AOL. I searched at Trend's website for tech support and found this article that may help you.

actually I have the other problem Jackye.
I'm using my computer on AOL and PC CIllian is updating in its window connected to comcast. When it gets finished it posts that screen it always does and then poof every open window on my computer closes if it is an internet window. It doesn't effect other none internet connected programs other then slowing them way down.

The AOL service interupt message flashes and it tries to autoconnect.

It doesn't matter if the AOL is already open or opened after the updater starts when the updater finishes all internect windows lose connection to site.

Looks like I need to talk to the tech support at PC cillian
