  • What does 'low carb' mean to Culvers?

Many people who eat low-carbohydrate meals reap excellent health benefits: improved control over diabetes, decreased hypertension, increased lean body mass, reduction in excess body weight, and improved cardiovascular status. It is the general consensus of medical experts that the health benefits derived from eating low-carbohydrate meals are great.

Carbohydrates are present in all foods, but most meat, fish, and chicken, served without a bun, have mere traces of carbohydrates. The amount of carbohydrates you should eat in a day depends on your weight, which, in turn, determines your daily calorie intake. Individuals on the standard 2,000 calorie diet should consume 250 grams of carbohydrate daily, since each gram of sugar, fiber, or starch is about four calories,

Most of Culver's sandwiches are low in carbohydrates when served without the bun. Visit Culver's Choice Calculator web page to determine total carbohydrates in your menu choice.
This is from Culver's website (http://www.culvers.com/NutritionalIn...yChoices.aspx). Now, call me a prude, but 250 grams of carbs a day? 50% of your calories from carbs?

Well, butter burgers with cheese are fine, as long as you skip the bun (and the fries, and the shakes, and everything else on the menu...)

Not much there in the way of veggies, though. At our house, my bf brings the burger home for me and I supplement with green beans or broccoli or something. Eating out, I just skip everything but the meat and cheese and try to suggest real restaurants, where feasible
