I saw this today in the news...
I looked around and didn't see it posted here on ADBB yet. Maybe there's someone here in this the Met. Orlando Florida area who wants to participate in this.
(I'm not sure if this is for news or chit chat forum.)
==============================================
"Orlando, FL-based WESH-TV needs someone to go on the Atkins diet Alrighty, listen up people who live in the Orlando, Florida area! A producer for your local NBC television affiliate, WESH-TV Channel 2 is looking for YOU to be included in a brand new diet series coming up very soon and they REALLY want someone around there who needs to lose a few pounds to personally go on the Atkins diet during this special two-month series.
What an opportunity for somebody who could be reading this RIGHT NOW!
WESH-TV will be featuring four different people who will follow one of four major diets, including low-carb, throughout the month of April and May. I suppose if you are already eating this way that you can be a part of this unique experience and report your results with the news crew.
It's unknown what the four diets wil be, but I'm assuming they are attempting to replicate the recent JAMA that featured the Atkins, Zone, LEARN, and Ornish diets. In that study, the Atkins diet produced the most weight loss and best improvements in many health indicators.
So, WESH-TV may be attempting to test the results of that research with an anecdotal two-month study of their own. This sounds like a fantastic story idea to me because the Atkins low-carb diet should BLOW the others out of the water, especially if the people follow their diets EXACTLY as prescribed by the authors--something that did NOT happen in the Stanford study after 12 months.
Filming for this brand new diet series program will begin in early April, so please hurry if you are interested in being a part of this exciting experience to tell the world what livin' la vida low-carb can do to help them lose weight and get healthy. If you are chosen for this on-camera experience as the Atkins dieter, then be sure to look directly into the camera at some point and say, "I'm happy and healthy because I'm livin' la vida low-carb, baby!" LOL! Won't you do it just for me?! "

Anyway, I found it interesting to know they are going to do this.
