1. It is not necessary to read the chapters preceding the Induction Chapter 11.
2. Can you really have withdrawal symptoms when beginning to eat Atkins style?
3. I lost pounds in my first few days of induction.
4. My body chemistry can’t be changed by what I eat
5. I can’t have vegetables while on induction
6. People with severe kidney disease (creatinine over 2.4) should be able to do Atkins.
7. Flaxmeal in any quantity is fine for induction.
8. The critera for a defining a plateau is no loss of weight for at least four weeks.
9. In OWL protein and fat remain the mainstays of ones nutritional regimen.
10. Starchy vegetables are the last (9th) rung of OWL.
11. In OWL you may eat a new food group four times a week to start. Then you may eat it daily.
12. One recommendation by Dr. Atkins is to weigh only monthy when you are maintaining your goal weight.
13. The approximate CCLM range for average Metabolic Resistance is 20 - 30 grams of carbohydrate per day.
