Post slower? You have no idea all the things I have to say...and so little time.Originally posted by PerryPost slower?
This setting is to stop anyone from flooding our server with spam. (yes, that happens)
Spam? Really? You mean automatic spam posts?

Re: 20 second delay.
Hackers have tried many ingenious ways of bringing down web sites. The most common is denial of service attacks (which were hard to stop using the old software) but occasionally if they find a back door to your board they can bring it down with automated routines posting spam. We protected ourselves from that with some custom modifications (which I won't mention here). So, your inconvenience in getting your thoughts posted immediately is secondary to the inconvenience a spammer could cause the rest of the members. (not that we don't like hearing what you say, wannabe!)

Oh, ok then. If you put it that way then I most certainly do not want to be the cause of this board going down. Everyone would hunt me down.Originally posted by PerryHackers have tried many ingenious ways of bringing down web sites. So Perry.... Are there rules against admins visiting happy hour at the supporter's lounge? Sadly, there are no males who frequent the place...Iap walks in and then immediately walks out. I promise there is nothing funny going on in there. It's all legal. Do you sing?
