Picture sizes

How come some members picture sizes are huge, even as their avatars but when I try to do the same it says my maximum picture size in signature is 100 x 100 and for Avatars its 80 x 80.

I've looked at the pixel sizes for some of these member pictures and they are NO WHERE near 80 and 100!

The avatar picture can't be bigger than 80 by 80 pixels but pictures in the signature can be any size. Where are you finding the restriction of 100 by 100?

The picture you have as your avatar can be bigger than what you have.

I'm having the same problem I can't put a pic on my profile unless its under 100 x 100 pixels and then when I find one smaller or resize it still says its too big

What file format is it? They take jpegs easily here.
