so the other board's chat is up and has been up this entire time but ours hasn't? grrrrrrrrrrrr

Are we getting new software so the firewall issues will be solved or was this just it is still on the old server and was never moved like the cookbook was?

I am not sure if this is an addon to the actual board software. But it maybe using either a java chat program or a IRC solution. In which case should be easy to fix. If they need assistance with it I would be happy to help.

don't know if this is the right lingo but............
the chat that is done was a java program. since Tom will probably not be looking in this thread i would suggest, if you want to help in this area, that you send a pm to Tom. he is the board owner and one of the admins, the one dealing with this problem and about 1000 more.

already tried that route Jimmie 48 which was why this topic was written hoping to get a better answer then we are working on it which seems to have been the answer still.

Chat over at LCDBB works. We can use that. Maybe Kent can hook up the link until Tom fixes whatever is wrong.

Can some power that be please post why chat is down and what is needed to fix it and maybe some meber can fix it.

after all the skism of 03 started out cause char was always down or locking up and somebody built an alternative chat site for us to use ........

Is the chat still functional at LCBB? If so, I'd go use it. There was never anyone in there back when I was modding! I say, make busy with the chatarooni!
