"Reputation"?

I'm new to the board, and trying to figure out what the little thing means that says you can add to someone's reputation (or whatever it says). I just checked went to change my signatuare and I noticed someone has apparently boosted my reputation. What does this mean? Thanks!

Ditto! I've had two and I don't know what it means and I wasn't sure whether I was being impolite and not thanking them!?

we have a big topic on it but basically the reuptaion is the points you have been givene by other ADBBers. most ADBBer use the reputation feature as a hug fest and click the sclaes in the upper right of a post to share some with that poster.

there are limits set on how many reps you can hand out in a day and how often you can rep one person. the points they give you are equal to the rep power number in their siggy. as you hav ) power you can rep some one but you will not give them any points.

many folk like to read the comment section that goes with the reps.
Other boards use the rep system to let a newbie know if a poster knows what they are talking about but ADBB doesn't do it that way.
