Hey! What's the deal?

I'm having a problem with the smilies actually posting as the ones I selected. I click on one and it shows in my text box, but when I post it, they change. Like the party hat ones. There are four I picked...tweeters, baloons, party hats. But when I posted, all four changed to the same one ... a single party hat, no animations. It appears they share the same name ... "Party_fes" How do I get the different ones to show up?

you got me . i think there was a proble like this before. i also think there has been tweeking of the softward so perhaps that is causing the problem. i'll make sure our techy admins see this thread.

i went through the party_fes smilies and see what you are really talking about. it's been reported.

Still having trouble with the smilies. I can't post my Santa Claus smiley for my Christmas challenge sig. I keep getting that guy in the pointy party hat. Do the admins need help in renaming the smilies? I've got a forum of my own and know how to do such things and would be glad to volunteer to "clean up" the smilie list...

i haven't heard any word on this except that the techy admins know about it. they are aware of this thread and i am sure will also be aware of your offer.

you are obviously moer skilled than i am. would you be able to just upload the graphic into the adbb gallery?

Thanks. Hopefully it will get cleared up and we can use ALL of these wonderful smilies! There sure are a lot of them! And I'm kind of a smilie freak.

The problem with loading them to the adbb gallery is that they won't be available through the smilie clickable links. I believe (not positive) that I would need access to the files in order to change the names of the smilies. It appears there is a character limit and when they get to a certain number of characters, it chops the rest of the smilie name off, thus leaving only the first smilie of that "group" as the default. I don't know if I'm explaining it right, but I'm not really a techi...I just know about running a BB myself..even if I am just an amature... Someday, mine might have as many as the ADBB...goodness knows I've "stolen" some from here!

MY suggestion would be to name them something like Party01, Party02 or something simple and short along those lines. More descriptive names can be applied, but they apparently need to be 9 letters or less.
