Jimmie suggested I change my options to not see avatars or signatures - that has solved the problem for me.

To do this go to User Cp - then 'edit options'. On this page under Thread Display Online unselect Show Signatures, Show Avatars and Show Images. Then at the bottom on the page select Save Changes.

I did that and was able to go into the threads..haven't had any problems..But I miss seeing my own signature.. I wonder if its just one persons that is doing it or what...

Yeah it is a shame to not see people signatures! Hopefully will be fine soon

tom just told me to tell wendy to log out, clear cookies, log back in.

i don't know know if that is specific to her problem or if he thinks he has it fixed but maybe you can try that and see what happens now.

I've continued to have problems. My son put "Mozilla Firefox" on my computer. It's so much faster and I've had no problems! Pretty sure it's something Internet Explorer has done to "help" us.

I think it has to do with the browser also, I think mine was updated here at work within the last week!


I turned off the avitars and kept the signatures and that seems to work. At least I can still see the siggys!

It is bizzare! I'm still having problems, but only with threads I subscribe to. It locks up on me within moments of entering the thread.

I can however read new threads though. It just locks up on me as soon as I post. (I guess as soon as you post, you subscribe ... I think that has something to do with it somehow!).

So, that being said ... I'll see ya'll the next time I log on!

I just tried turning off all avatars, graphics & signatures and I am able to post again.

Hope this can be fixed though because I associate the avatars w/ people so much that I don't even hardly look at the names anymore. Plus I miss the tickers!!

Thanks for the help, Kent.

I was having major issues this week trying to get to threads too...did the cookie cleaning, condence files, went to another computer, etc....

I'm glad things seem to be up and running again.

Thanks for whatever computer upkeeping you did!
